This new setting was written prior to the passing of Gordon B. Hinckley.  While the text’s focus is largely on the restoration of prophets to the earth, I approached it from the view of losing our beloved leader and then having another in his stead.  “Another prophet now is sent, this knowledge to restore.”

The 4th verse, penned by Bruce R. McConkie was added to the original three by Joseph S. Murdock as the former felt the ‘thought was incomplete’.  In deference to this view, the 1st and 4th verses have identical music, book-ending the thoughts of the text.  The text reigns supreme in shaping the tonality and harmony of the music throughout.
